SO. The spouse started asking about what kinds of covers he’s going to be producing for us this year. It occurred to us that as usual we are so not on the cutting edge of what’s new and what’s hot. We are in fact so far from the cutting edge that we can’t even see it from here.
Megan and I have gotten hot for Burn Notice in a sweet, “Bruce Campbell is adorable” kind of way–she even ordered the novel from Amazon, lol. The husband suggested a “Chuck” cover but that’s mostly because he loves the show. Also BSG, but really, where’s the slash there damn it? Then someone suggested Obama covers, and we still haven’t decided if that’s just too… too.
What we really need to know is what people are into today. Let us know, please. Reply, email us, whatever you like; it’s the beginning of ramp-up for us and we’re really getting excited. What are you watching? Do you adore it like the best thing ever, or is it just getting you by until the right show comes along

OH, and the whole 6CD business, six degrees of Canadian actors starting (generally) with CKR and Paul Gross in due South and continuing on to encompass anything either of them have done since, and their co-stars, etc etc etc.
And Slings & Arrows! 6CD, Paul Gross, unbearably slashy, new and hot for Escapade! And due South and the other related Canadian productions of the 90s are still representing hard on LJ and in the slash world…
The slash in BSG is femslash, mostly — that show is RIPE with the girl love. But also I think we should pay some attention to British shows this year, Merlin, and also Torchwood and Doctor Who and Hustle and some others…
SGA, SPN, NCIS, and bandom seem to be the mainstays of fandom these days too, though I’m not sure if bandom is appropriate for Escapade (not being a bandslasher myself)…
House/Wilson is one of the leading bromances and definitely a huge slash representation these days — sitcoms like Scrubs and HIMYM also have been bringing some good slash.
In conclusion: DOCTOR WHOOOO. TORCHWOOD. Therein lies the gay!
Merlin (new BBC show, will start up on NBC in February) is getting lots of converts. I *adore* Burn Notice, too; there seems to be a trend of tongue-in-cheek spies that altogether is almost its own overarching fandom–Burn Notice, Chuck, Leverage.
NCIS!
Chuck is turning out to be v.v. slashy! They even gave us a buddy-breathing style kiss, omg!!11! And so many pairings to choose from…. Chuck/Bryce, Chuck/Casey, Chuck/Morgan, Chuck/Awesome, Sarah/Ellie, Sarah/Anna…. 😀
Well, I still love Draco! Also, Hathaway, from the ‘Lewis’ series is rather raspy, but he’s not really part of a couple.
Dave Gahan, with long hair, from Depeche Mode, is still very charismatic.
Mmmm. Who else?
That cute new Zealand guy who’s playing the bad guy in ‘ Legend of the Seeker’, Craig Parker. He played Haldir in Lord of the Rings.
That’s my 2 cents anyway.
Rodney/John (SGA) is still very much alive with much new fanfic and manips. How about retro covers? Cancelled Fandoms that refuse to die like K/S.
What about Sons of Anarchy? I love that show! (Especially Kim Coates – he is the best!)
