Alternate Programming & Video – New Tech & Signup Schedule

If you haven’t been to Escapade before, or you haven’t been paying attention, you may not know that we have a room dedicated for scheduled and spur-of-the-moment attendee-scheduled programming. Details below the cut.

The Alternate Programming & Video room will be available between 9 am and midnight Friday and Saturday, and until 3 PM on Sunday except during special events. Once the main convention schedule is posted to the website (planned for Monday), you will have 24-48 hours to request open times in the alternate programming track (then the schedule has to be printed). Requests received after that time, or at the convention, will be accommodated if the time-slots are available. You can request time for a panel (either one that you voted for that didn’t make the schedule, or something totally new) or for vid watching/pimping. There are only a few rules:

1. Events in function space must be open to all attendees (no private parties)
2. You cannot block more than 2 hours at a time
3. If someone is not there to take over the room when you are done, please contact Misti in the consuite to ensure the room gets locked .

The alternate programming room will have a flat-screen monitor, so you can hook it up to your computer (mac users, be sure to bring an adapter to VGA), and it will also have its own computer, loaded with a bunch of TV shows (see list below). If you have a show you want to share, consider bringing it along on flash or dvd and loading it on to the server for others to watch. The server software will take: AVI, MP4, MPEG, WMV files. It will not take: MV2, MV4 files.
