Escapade Hotel Reservations (via postie)

Bookmark this category
It¹s that time again. The deadline for hotel reservations is fast approaching (February 1st). After that time, the hotel will not honor our discounted rate ($109 for a standard room, $179 for an exec king). The usual advance purchase rates for these rooms are $146.25 and $236.25. Act now to ensure you get the convention rate. You can reserve online http://escapadecon.net/?page_id=5 or by phone 805.648.2100 (be sure to tell them you¹re with Escapade).

If you have any special medical needs be sure to let the hotel know at the time of your reservation. Also, for the first time, we have a dog policy, which Dail sent by email last week. If you¹re thinking of bringing a pet to Escapade, please read it (and follow it).

We¹re looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Hotel Reservations-Now Available Online (via postie)

In a stunning oversight, we had never connected the ³Make Your Hotel Reservation Online² link. Now we have!

So, if you¹ve been waiting this long to reserve your hotel room for Escapade, now is the time. The hotel page is here: http://escapadecon.net/?page_id=5. There are plenty of double-bed rooms left at the discounted price of $109. I¹ve request an update on Executive King rooms (quantity available and at what cost). I should hear from the hotel on Monday and will let everyone know.

We¹re looking forward to seeing you all in 47 days!

Escapade 2010 Update – Discounted reg deadline approaching!

Thanks to those of you who sent updated contact info. We now believe we have everyone entered into the online system who should be there. If you have not received a confirmation email with the subject line ³Attending Member Registration² that means either:

1. You¹re not registered yet (act now to get the low price!) 2. We don¹t have your current email address (send us your updated info right away info@escapadecon.net) 3. There¹s some other unspecified problem with your registration (again, contact us ASAP at info@escapadecon.net!)

The ³Attending Member Registration² email includes a password to access the list of attending members at the Escapade site. Here¹s the direct link to that list: Please keep the password private.

The deadline for discounted registration is THIS TUESDAY (9/15). If you¹re not registered yet, or if you have friends who are not registered (see the list at the link above), please let them know to act now.

We¹re going to have a great time at Escapade¹s 20th Anniversary Party, and we want everyone to be there!

Escapade 2010 Website Open

The Escapade website has been revised extensively to address your comments, and make everything more useful and accessible. We have also opened and simplified registration for Escapade 2010, our 20th anniversary. To keep the conversations manageable, we¹ve reinstituted a registration cap of 150 attendees, so you want to act quickly to make sure you AND your friends are registered. We¹re offering a discounted registration price of $100 through 9/15/09. After that, registration goes up to $125.

We¹re all really excited about the upcoming convention, gathering friends old & new, and can¹t wait to create it with you!

The Escapade Committee

Early Registration Thursday 9 pm

Just a heads up to let you know that early check-in for Escapade will be a little later than it’s been in years past. Due to real-life commitments on the part of Misti, our Con Suite hostess, early reg will open at 9 pm in the Con Suite (room TBD). Reg will open again Friday morning at 8 am.

Late & At-Door Registration + Check your badge name

I just got a request, and I wanted to confirm to everyone that we WILL be offering registration at the door at Escapade. However, if you know you’re planning to come it’s worth it to register at the website (even if you pay at the door) so you’ll have a nice, printed badge (our handwriting is just not that great anymore).

And speaking of badges… Today is the day to log into the Escapade database, and confirm that you like the way your name is going to print on the badge. You can get to the database by clicking the “Sign up/Sign in for Escapade 2009!” link on the right side of the page. Or, if that’s just too much work, you can go here. We’ll print the badges tomorrow mid-morning, so get your corrections in now!

See you real soon!

ETA: There is actually a reset password function now. Select “Guest Account” at the database login screen, and then you should be able to reset your password. If you still run into problems, drop an email to info AT escapadecon.net and we’ll manually reset it.

Last-minute hotel details

We visited the hotel today, and I wanted to remind you of the following items:

  • The hotel is pet friendly. Contact them directly for details (and check with your roommates), then bring your furry friends along to Escapade.
  • Parking (including in-and-out privileges) is free as long as you park in the city structure. It’s right next to the hotel, and this is a special deal we’ve negotiated for our attendees.
  • The hotel has a heated pool (but no hot tub, darn it). Bring a suit. And the ocean is right there! Bring a wetsuit!
  • There’s a farmer’s market just blocks from the hotel on Saturday morning. We recommend it!

Panel Ballot – Deadline Sunday Night

So far, we have 53 responses on the panel ballot. This means that fewer than half of you have stated your preferences for Escapade 19 programming. Act now, or forever hold your peace! The panel ballot closes tomorrow at 11 pm PT.

Remember:

  • Go here to see the results so far
  • Go here to vote

We have only one new write in topic for alt programming (see others in previous posts), but it sounds like a good one:

Keep the Peace: Flashpoint pimping
A Canadian production also airing on CBS, Flashpoint offers gear porn, sniper porn, tough guys and gals who also have tender hearts, and a great seasoned vet slash pairing. Clips will be shown, a vid, and discussion of fic.
